WorkSafe Products was founded in 1991 by Ted Engler. At that time Ted learned that as businesses were starting to use large quantities of “personal computers,” employees were developing back, hand and eye injuries. According to Ted, the workstations were “all wrong.” “Employers are taking away typewriters and replacing them Person Computers without regard to how the employee was positioned in front of the computers.” He found sources for ergonomically designed chairs and accessories and consulted with businesses on how to use them. Many of St. Louis’ largest businesses started uning his products to help their employees.
Shortly after starting the business it became apparent that patient care givers needed that same type of attention. Ted found equipment that would assist in transferring patients that were not able to assist in the transfer process.
